-About People for Animals-

Formed in 1996 under the nationwide initiative of Mrs Maneka Gandhi, People for Animals, Bengaluru, is a registered non-profit animal welfare organisation. We are recognised by the Animal Welfare Board of India, the Karnataka Forest Department and the Central Zoo Authority of India.

Apart from the new PfA Pet Care & Clinic and the Pet Cemetery, our 6-acre campus houses the PfA Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Centre, of which the PfA Wildlife Hospital is a part. The centre rescues, treats, and rehabilitates urban wild animals, to ultimately release them back into their natural habitats.

Urban wildlife is important for the city’s development and ecological balance, as has been proven across the world. At PfA, we have rescued over 26,000 animals of over 201 species so far.

The team includes veterinarians, rescuers, and rehabilitation specialists.

-Special Programmes-

We also conduct programmes, workshops and webinars on urban wildlife and human-animal coexistence for professionals, residential communities, schools, colleges, and offices. Apart from special Conservation programmes, we also undertook a massive canine feeding initiative during the Covid-19 lockdown in April-May, working with various individuals and groups of well-meaning citizens.
